First Boot

What to expect when you first boot into RogueOS.

Initial Setup​

On first boot, RogueOS will guide you through:

  1. Language selection - Choose your preferred language
  2. Timezone - Set your local timezone
  3. User creation - Create your user account
  4. Network - Connect to WiFi (optional but recommended)

Gaming Mode​

After setup completes, you'll boot directly into Gaming Mode - a controller-friendly interface optimized for handheld use.

  • D-pad - Navigate menus
  • A button - Select/Confirm
  • B button - Back/Cancel
  • Steam/Guide button - Open quick access menu

Desktop Mode​

To access the full desktop environment:

  1. Press the Steam/Guide button
  2. Select "Power"
  3. Choose "Switch to Desktop"

From Desktop Mode, you can:

  • Install applications
  • Configure system settings
  • Access terminal
  • Browse the web
